To say that 2022 has been Transformational for me is barely scratching the Surface. So much has happened in the best of ways, and my trip with my mom to Sedona really kicked things into high gear for me. This trip was a gift, given to us by my Dad for Christmas, and I really want to thank him for this. That being said, I am so excited to share my trip with you, my favorite places to eat, and places to go. Let’s dive in to part 4 of this four part blog series!
Day 4
Our last day in Sedona. Today we decided to check out some other shops that were nearby where we had breakfast, and check out local thrift shops. I love second hand stores, and was buzzing to check out what the ones in Sedona had waiting for me!
Creekside American Bistro (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
This restaurant not only holds numerous awards, it also has spectacular views and delicious dishes on their menu. The Creekside did not disappoint our tastebuds, that is absolutely certain. We chose to sit outside, which is funny because my allergies were really acting up. I love the outdoors and nature too much... so I opted to deal with having the "sneezles" as my son likes to put it.
One of the neat things I noticed is that many of the restaurants with outdoor seating had individual blankets laid across the backs of the chairs, in case you get chilly. This morning was particularly crisp weather, so I had mine draped across my lap to keep me toasty. (My primary dosha is Vata.)
Unfortunately I don't quite remember what we ordered, although I believe it was a pretty simple breakfast with eggs. We would definitely eat here again, and I would definitely choose the balcony again. It is a lovely place to eat and to take in the magnificent landscape that is Sedona.
Once we finished Breakfast, we drove down to where I could access the water at the Creek, and I took in the sounds, smells, and energy of the woods. It was so peaceful, as there were brambles climbing between the ferns, and a conspiracy of Ravens actually greeted me as I got closer to the water. It was a moment of peace that I will never forget.
Twice Nice Thriftique (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
This thrift store was really neat! My mom and I both enjoyed perusing the store, and I ended up getting (you guessed it) some books! There weren't many items in this store that were my size, but they did have a range of items to choose from. I might go here again to check out what they have.
Sedona Goodwill (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
I love shopping at Goodwill for unique items and pieces. This particular store did not disappoint! I found pieces I have been trying to find for ages there, and I was so grateful to find them. We were probably inside the store for well over an hour, and both of us found exactly what we needed. My only complaint about this store was that there were so many people shopping, it was difficult to navigate the aisles. Overall, I would definitely shop here again.
Kealyn's Kloset (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
My mom spotted this cute little boutique and we decided to pop in. It is in the same shopping center as Goodwill, so it wasn't a far drive to get to it. If you are looking for quality haute couture but don't want to pay haute prices... this is the store for you. There are so many beautiful pieces in this shop, and both of us left with a few of them. I definitely plan to come back to this store on my next trip.
Airport Mesa Vortex (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
You are probably wondering why we didn't go see all of the different Vortices in Sedona on this trip. We tried to book a helicopter flight before heading home, but the people at the kiosk were out to lunch. That's when we decided to book this on our next trip out. We took so many pictures at the look out up top by the airport, and then drove down to the lower parking lot to climb up to the top.
This is absolutely a climb, and not a "trail". If you have any sort of injuries or difficulties with stepping up onto large boulders, or a fear of heights, this might not be the best place for you to climb.
When I tell you the experience was ethereal, I really mean it. We took photos up at the top, despite the unruly wind blowing us around. I'm not entirely sure how long we were up there, because it almost felt like time slowed down... or came to a stand still. There were probably about 20 other people up on top of the rock with us (it is quite large) and 360° view of these incredible feats of nature.
I walked to the edge and sat down to meditate for a brief moment... or long moment... again the timing is unclear. I lifted my arms into the air and a massive gust of wind began to blow. My mother took pictures of this, and apparently the other people around were staring at me... but I didn't know this. Then I put my arms out to the side as if I was flying, and I really felt like I was. You can call me a crazy lady, but that feeling was incredible. I lifted my arms and energy upwards one last time, wind blowing like crazy, and then gently brought my arms down. The wind stopped.
Make of this what you will, but for me this experience was beautiful, spiritual, and unforgettable. I wish I could box it up and give it to everyone I meet. Once we had finished soaking up the energy atop the Airport Mesa Vortex, we extended gratitude for the experience and hiked back down to our car.
The remainder of the day was spent driving and shopping. We drove through Flagstaff and made 3 pit-stops: at Target, Olive Garden, and Del Taco. Where we live, we don't have Target, Olive Garden, or Del Taco... so we bought some food to freeze and enjoy later. Of course we ate at Olive Garden in the restaurant, and brought home food for my hubby and kiddo.
This trip to Sedona was phenomenal and I cannot wait to go back again.
