Amberlight Valley Favorites: Woodland Wellness
If you've read my books, you know that Amberlight Valley is a place where healing and wonder walk hand in hand. Where the forests carry something old and wise, where the air itself feels restorative, and where the people who live there tend to one another with a kind of unhurried intentionality. Woodland Wellness is that, made real.
The space is warm and beautifully designed, tucked between pines, created for people who are ready to be cared for — not processed. Every session is customized. Every provider brings something unique and deeply skilled. And nothing here is rushed. It's one of those places that, the moment you step inside, your shoulders drop two inches before anyone has even touched you.
Why I Love Renaissance Faires (and What They Have to Do with Amberlight Valley)
Renaissance Faires have always felt like my people. Like the kind of place where I could exhale fully and not worry about whether I was too much or too strange or too deeply invested in something most people didn't understand. There was always someone more enthusiastic, more costumed, more committed than me… and that was celebrated. Looking back now, I think I recognize the pattern. That immediate sense of belonging, the sensory richness, the permission to be fully yourself in a world built for imagination? That speaks a particular language that many neurodivergent hearts know well. I felt welcome there before I had words for why.
Summer in the White Mountains: How Where I Live Shapes How I Create
Something shifts when you climb high enough… the air, the light, the way time moves. Magic lives at elevation. I don't mean that metaphorically — or not only metaphorically. I mean it in the way the air feels different up here. The way sound travels. The way light moves through a ponderosa pine at seven in the morning and makes you stop whatever you were doing and just... breathe. I've lived in the White Mountains of Arizona long enough now that the place has gotten into my bones. And every summer, I'm reminded all over again: this landscape isn't just where I live. It's where I create. It's in the soil of everything I make.
